Reporting to the VP of Engineering the Program Manager will coordinate a variety of projects including but not limited to: Sales Engineering, Engineering Projects, R&D, Product Development, and Internal Projects. 

The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives. As a natural born leader, you will have a strong talent for project coordination and delegation. Ultimately, you are motivated by the desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion. 

Program Managers are essential in achieving company goals and growth by helping projects to stay focused on the outcome, on schedule, and on spec. 

The day-to-day duties will vary project to project, but responsibilities look something like this: 

  • Assigns resources to their projects alongside the VP of Engineering  
  • Obtains approval for project plans in accordance with scope, budget, and work order 
  • Produces and obtains approvals for all Tier 1 deliverables with support for simulations and concept visualizations 
  • Provide percent complete for tasks deliverables weekly for all projects

controls lead

As a Controls Lead with Brave, you will be responsible for delivering quality custom automation solutions to our clients in construction, automotive, food and beverage, and more! 

Working together with solution and project engineers, Controls Leads execute assigned engineering project tasks and communicate any issues or changes back to the solutions and project management team. 

The day-to-day duties and responsibilities of Leads vary depending on project and customer requirements but generally look something like this: 

  • Developing software code for PLC, Robot applications and HMI from scratch 
  • Safety Programming 
  • Industrial electrical panel design and component selection

controls & robotics specialist

As a Controls & Robotics Specialist with Brave you will be responsible for delivering quality custom automation solutions to our clients in various industries.

You will work with other engineers and technologists on a variety of assigned projects where you could be working with PLC’s, robots, motion controllers, vision systems, SCADA and HMI packages manufacturing intelligence software, and much more. 

You will be an integral part of the technical delivery team and support Brave’s sales initiatives.

The day-to-day duties will vary from project to project, but responsibilities look something like this:

  • Support sales as required including when assigned, assisting in the gathering, and analyzing of technical data or requirements
  • Produce assigned project documents under direction and guidance of Directors of Engineering and Project Engineers
  • When assigned, assist in producing solution concepts, detailed quotes, and R&D
  • Develop robot programs from scratch

As a Project Engineer at Brave, you will be responsible for supporting Brave’s sales engineering efforts, engineering management, and technical delivery for your assigned projects.

Reporting to the Divisional Director of Engineering, your role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sales technical consulting as need via customer meetings, site visits, trade shows and other industry events
  • Gather and analyze technical requirements, perform technical assessments, and provide insights and recommendations
  • Produce solution concepts, estimates, and detailed quotes

mechanical designer

As a Mechanical Designer at Brave, you will work in a team to develop and design automation solutions for manufacturing processes in various industries.

Day to day duties will look something like this:

  • Construct and modify CAD models per customer CAD standards using one or more of the following systems: Inventor, Catia, Unigraphics, FIDES, AutoCad, and Solidworks.
  • Estimate design hours for tool concept to design and release for original content as well as changes
  • Prepare layout and detailed drawings of design as required to project timelines. Develop creative and innovative engineered solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Review and study customer specifications, engineering schematics, and other data to determine the design procedures needed to generate and release digital and/or hardcopy printouts related to the engineering and manufacturing requirements
  • Perform necessary engineering calculations and proper material selection to satisfy the required design functionality
  • Coordinate any structural and/or finite element analysis that need to be performed for assessing the functionality of the tools designed
  • Coordinate the development of part drawings, including CAD drawings, through other designers, internal or outsourced, to comprehensively manage the complete design of the tools that are assigned
  • Work closely with senior designer and/or designer on design changes to improve manufacturability, maintainability, and serviceability of equipment

MUST HAVE

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in related field
  • Willing and able to travel to customer facilities (USA, Mexico, Canada)
  • 5+ years of direct experience and demonstrated capabilities in Concepting, 3-D Design, and 2-D Detailing for manufacturing and assembly tooling
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, aerospace, construction, heavy equipment manufacturing

controls designer

As a Controls Designer at Brave, you will work in a team to develop and design automation solutions for manufacturing processes in various industries.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Prepare controls designs according to customer specifications and process requirements
  • Creation of panel external and internal layouts and best practices
  • Create template pages and standards for new designs
  • Supervise the installation and build of equipment to ensure they align with design specifications
  • Provide a BOM for Panel and field components
  • Work with industry partners to determine hardware purchasing lead times

MUST HAVE

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
  • 5+ years of controls design experience using AutoCAD and/or EPLAN
  • Familiarity with JIC and IEC layouts and symbols

At Brave Control Solutions, the Project Management role is one of the most impactful. As a Project Manager, you will coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving a project’s organization and timeline. You will interact with clients, vendors, and internal resources.

 

The day-to-day duties and responsibilities of Project Managers generally look something like this:

  • Develop project charters, plans, milestones, and schedules using standardized project templates/tools to ensure projects are completed on time and the expectations of project stakeholders are met
  • Coordinate, manage, and complete assigned projects on time and within budget
  • Analyze and coordinate project schedules and timelines internally to procure staffing
  • Proactively manage risks, actions, issues, and decisions for each project (ie. Scope and project changes)

    As our automation estimator, you will play a crucial role in the initial stages of project development. You will be responsible for evaluating client needs, conducting cost analysis, and providing accurate and competitive estimates for automation projects. Your expertise will contribute to our ability to win contracts and deliver solutions that meet or exceed client expectations. 

     

    Estimator Job Duties: 

    • Gather required information for solution development by determining client requirements, reviewing blueprints and relevant specifications  
    • Create project proposals and quotes for custom automation solutions 
    • Create concept and process flow for solutions 
    • Gather first-hand information from site visits 
    • Identify labor, material, time requirements and costs  
    • Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors 
    • Manage solution team through the development process 
    • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.) 

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) 
    • Proven experience in automation system estimation or a related field. 
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills 
    • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, cost estimation software). 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
